As interest in natural health continues to grow, customers are becoming more focused and informed about the supplements they choose. Natural Health Manager, Lyle Sunada is seeing clear trends in what people are asking for at the counter. From weight management to cognitive support, here’s what’s driving wellness conversations right now.
Berberine Draws Strong Interest
One of the fastest-growing supplements over the past year has been berberine. Sunada says demand has risen sharply, particularly among customers looking for support with weight management.
Much of the interest has been sparked by online conversations comparing berberine to popular GLP-1 medications such as Ozempic. Often referred to on social media as “Nature’s Ozempic,” the supplement has gained widespread attention as consumers look for natural options to support metabolic health.
Sunada notes that while berberine has a long history of traditional use, today’s surge in demand highlights how quickly awareness can grow when a product becomes part of a broader health conversation.
Fitness and Active Aging Supplements Continue to Grow
In addition to berberine, supplements connected to fitness and active aging are seeing consistent growth. Creatine, collagen, and protein powders are among the most requested products.
“These products aren’t just for athletes anymore,” Sunada explains. “We’re seeing interest from people of all ages who want to maintain muscle mass, support joint health, and stay active long-term.”
Younger customers are incorporating these supplements into workout routines, while older adults are increasingly focused on preserving strength, mobility, and independence.
Functional Mushrooms Gain Momentum
Functional mushrooms are another category experiencing strong demand. Products featuring Lion’s Mane, Turkey Tail, and Red Reishi are popular among customers looking for support with cognitive function, immune health, stress management, and sleep.
According to Sunada, interest in immune-support products increased significantly during the pandemic and has remained steady. Aging Baby Boomers, in particular, are seeking natural options to support brain health and overall resilience.
A Focus on Informed Choices
Across all categories, one trend stands out: customers are asking more questions and looking for guidance. Lyle’s role is to help people navigate the growing number of options and determine what makes sense for their individual health goals.
